Thank you to all who came to the Sissinghurst and Cranbrook visioning events. We had a turnout of 40 at the Sissinghurst event and over 70 in Cranbrook.
Held on the evenings of the 22nd and 23rd of March, these events looked at some of the critical issues effecting the Parish. Representatives of groups within the Parish were invited to start the NDP process, and worked through table-top tasks prepared by our consultant Richard Eastham of Feria Urbanism. These exercises gave participants an opportunity to share their views about what makes Cranbrook and Sissinghurst special places to live and work, to identify and plot their most and least favourite places, to think about the challenges our parish faces, to talk about what provision there is for the elderly and the young, and the nature and location of future housing.
These same exercises will be used to engage with further groups unable to attend, including schools and youth groups within the parish. They will also be available to download via this website.
The early results from these two evenings will be available soon.
The next event we are running is a three-day design and planning session on 9th, 10th & 11th May in the Coach House, Cranbrook School on Waterloo Road, when we want as many people as possible to get involved. This will take the results of the earlier Visioning Events and start to turn them into a spatial plan for the future of the Parish.
At this design forum, drop-in attendance is welcome, as well as longer participation from those who can spare the time. We will particularly welcome input from teenagers and other young people so they can shape the way the parish looks, works and feels over the next decade or more. Please confirm your attendance at: email@example.com
Before the event we would like groups, individuals and businesses to put together a short statement or slideshow about how they would like to see the future of Cranbrook and Sissinghurst. These will be presented on the first day of the design forum on Tuesday 9th May 2017. Presentations should be no more than 10 minutes and can be in any format, but PDF, Word or Powerpoint documents are preferred. Please send presentation material to Anna Freiesleben by 4th May at firstname.lastname@example.org
Anna will be happy to answer any queries on 07769 256 048
There will be a public meeting open to everyone in the Parish at 7.30pm on Thursday 11th May 2017 to conclude the design forum. Put this date in your diary!
We look forward to seeing you at this event.
